One of the great questions of our age is whether or not we as human beings will be able to master technology or will we continue to be mastered by it? Essentially, it is a moral question.
I have gotten so used to working with these ideas, that sometimes I find I get a tad sparse in my explanation. Here, it would probably be more precise to say that with every new layer of technical progress, the whole of the technical system grows exponentially more complex, and with it the problems it generates. Ellul argued that the longer you play out the technical system, as the problems mount and techniques are used to solve the problems of past techniques, the problems grow ever more and the system becomes ever more fragile. Which is what I meant, but not really what was said.
Once everything is reposted I am going to begin going through the catalogue and doing readings of everything…so if there is a request…I would be happy to take it!
Well, I hope to get the whole catalog read...it will take a bit of time as there are over 50 pieces...having that podcast catalogue available will really help grow my reach...
It would be nice to give an explanation of that point since I'm not sure what this actually mean: "Technical progress is always geometric in nature."

Hey, Kruptos, as a subscriber, I would like the option to let Substack read your posts to me. My two cents. :-)

I prefer to hear your real voice over the fake Substack reader. Since I discovered you in January, I haven’t read anything before that.

On another note, what is your favorite book or book recommendation that is also available on Audible?
That is a good question. I haven’t really used audible.
I have been doing readings myself. But I don’t believe that is a feature I can turn on by myself…I have seen it mentioned…I will look into it.
