Watch now | The transformation of our society into a mass society dependent upon propaganda has changed us, changed the nature of religious belief and the political. Let's take a look at how.
This is bordering on Alule calling everything he doesn't like propaganda. Don't get me wrong, it is a valid frame, but this is largely just how information and humans interact. The scale has changed but the basis remains. I reject that this machine itself ever has or ever could operate absent human will.
I suppose I'm saying it does not help, but is luckily not necessary, to reject how things work in order to form a Godly or even mythical basis for masses inevitably at the mercy of propaganda. The techniques of propaganda do not HAVE to be used in the ways that they currently are. They can be limited and shaped differently by a will sufficient enough to rip out the current entrenched beneficiaries, root and branch, and establish a Christian moral basis that forms antibodies against the resurgence of unrestricted or antithetical propaganda apparatuses.
I'm all for reducing scale, but the surest way to do that is seize power, ban usury, and eliminate international financial, political, and propaganda actors who, typically through their nature and rejection of Christ, would not abide by the Godly restriction of these things.
I just don't see a path other than this that doesn't involve nuking ourselves back to the stone age. The current order might Balkanize first, but things will come together again, and this will have to happen then.
I'll note that what I'm saying is more about using power to restrict propaganda, enabling environments which can be spiritual independent of it. Power and authority are primary, not the propaganda machine or anything it may say.
As such, rightful power or authority does not need to hide or obfuscate itself.
I would argue that in the end it has to do just that. We are kind of stuck with this world as it is, but we do need to understand it and be under no illusions that we are somehow exempt. This is one of the downstream costs of building modernity, of crossing a tipping point with technique.
