Rather than write and read a special piece for episode number 100, I had Gio and Dime on to both banter and talk about why modern art is is important, especially when it is done well.
Warhol owes whoever designed the Cambells Soup cans some royalties.
And may I comment, as a fellow who worked at LACMA for 2 years, I believe "modern art" does more harm than good. I admit there is some merit to some of the amusing insights and swirling colors,. But my experience is that 90% of the "modern artists" all have one real talent: the talent of self promotion.
I watched as legions of students on class trips to the museum laughed and mocked most of the current exhibits. The kids with their instincts still somewhat intact saw through the supposed "intellectual" justifications for the "art" and knew that The "artist" should of kept the works at home as works derived from a hobby.
